About: The Tiny Riders program is for young children to enjoy horses in a safe and professional environment. These lessons focus on basic riding skills, fine motor skills, speaking skills, having fun, and becoming comfortable with our amazing lesson ponies. Sessions are about 45 minutes and are scheduled once weekly. Gift Certificates Available!

Costs: Lessons are $60 per lesson for 45 minutes. Once weekly riding lessons are billed at the beginning of each month. You will be sent a link to pay for your lessons. Any one time lessons, not on a weekly schedule are $80. If you are starting mid month, that month will be prorated. Ages: All School-aged Children & Adults

Availability: Monday-Friday 2:00pm-7:30pm. By Appointment

Restrictions: 200lb weight limit

About: Everyone has to start somewhere! In the Beginner Lesson Program, our new riders learn the basics of grooming, tacking, and handling horses. Our instructors teach basic riding skills in hour long semi-private (small group) sessions.  

Costs: Group Lessons are $60 per lesson for one hour. Once weekly riding lessons are billed at the beginning of each month. You will be sent a link to pay for your lessons. Any one time lessons, not on a weekly schedule are $80. If you are starting mid month, that month will be prorated. Ages: All School-aged Children & Adults

Restrictions: 200lb weight limit

About: The Intermediate riding program is geared toward those serious horse lovers who are ready to advance from the beginner program or are coming from another riding program. These riders further their riding skills by focusing on efficiency, form, connection, and better understanding the unique horse that the lesson is being taught on. Twice weekly lessons are strongly encouraged for intermediate riders. 

Costs: Group Lessons are $50 per lesson for one hour. Once weekly riding lessons are billed at the beginning of each month. You will be sent a link to pay for your lessons. Any one time lessons, not on a weekly schedule are $80. If you are starting mid month, that month will be prorated. Join our farm as we compete at all levels of competition! 

We are fortunate to live near several great horse show facilities from the national and international level to local saddle clubs. 

For serious competitors, Mimosa Hills Farm attends horse shows at Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring NC. For riders learning to compete or wanting to attend more budget friendly horse shows, the McDowell Saddle and Bridle club is about 20 minutes from the farm and hosts monthly horse shows and Foothills Equestrian Nature Center is one hour away and hosts several open shows as well as c-rated hunter jumper shows. Our competitors ride english, western or carriage drive.

Mimosa Hills Farm also actively competes in combined driving events sanctioned through the American Driving Society and through USEF. Competing anywhere from Windridge Farms, TIEC, Southern Pines, Grand Oak in Florida, and in all breed classes at saddlebred and morgan horse shows.  

Ages: 2-9 years

Availability: Thursdays 3:45pm-5:00pm

Costs: monthly subscription, $150-$250

Restrictions: A responsible parent or adult must stay with child. Both must wear closed toe shoes.

About: Welcome to our new after-school program! Children in this program will get to spend time in a group setting, grooming ponies, learning about horses, playing games, and learning some basic riding skills. Activities will vary each week but will always include some riding time. This is a great place to start before committing to private riding lessons or moving into the beginner riding lessons.
